Mitchel Chappell
Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – ITBuilding custom PC’s for family and friends has become a bit of a hobby for Mitchell - of course, that’s when he’s not growing chillies in his garden, learning to speak Telugu and Spanish, playing video games and the guitar, or bouldering!
An interest in taking things apart and fixing them sparked Mitchell’s interest for all things IT, and he quickly became his friends and family’s go-to person for anything tech related and, well, broken. In fact, years’ of experience being ‘the IT guy everyone wants to know’ have paid off and Mitchell now enjoys using his knowledge to help his colleagues with technical challenges (and receiving their help in return). But what he loves most about working at Cloud is the flexibility of his role, the freedom to train in other areas, and having the opportunity to expand his knowledge-bank by learning about new technology.
Influenced by his sister's drive and positive attitude, Mitchell loves to face new challenges with the constant advancements in technology, and is hoping that in the future, machine learning and AI will help increase efficiency to allow people to upskill and maintain solutions. To keep his skills relevant, Mitchell takes regular Udemy training courses, keeps a close eye on the latest tech news for new bugs, and, thanks to years of IT freebies for his family, finds solutions to fix them.
Mitchell’s top tip for working in the IT department is to take regular short breaks to maintain clarity and focus (plus the coffee isn’t bad in the IT Hub either).
